Penny vs. The Easter Bunny

So this afternoon, we had a potluck (or pot-blessing as Pastor Sommerfield used to say) lunch over at Trinity Lutheran  in West Roxbury (sorry for subjecting you to the hills on the bike ride over, Debbie, it seemed like such a good idea at the time), where there was lots of good food, as evidenced by the grins,

and Penny went on her first Easter egg hunt.

But Penny was more interested in playing with the toys, than looking for eggs.

She seemed to have a great time

and enjoyed meeting all the new kids.  She really doesn't seem to be afraid of strangers, but considering who she has for a dad, who's stranger than that?  Definitely not this guy.

She seemed to really like the Easter bunny.  I guess that makes sense given that her favorite stuffed animals are about the same size as she is.  Why wouldn't she love a giant stuffed bunny that talks to her and gives her hugs?

Time Keeps on Slippin' into the Future

So our little munchkin keeps on growing and keeping us busy, and I'm just plain bad at regularly updating this thing.

Since I last posted here, Penny has celebrated Christmas with Mommy and Daddy here in Boston,

gone back to Michigan and Indiana to see family,

gotten baptized,

celebrated Christmas with the Himes family,

with the Mullenix family,

and the Yoder family.

She liked playing with her cousins.

Back home, she got to play in our only snow of the winter.

She also practiced her painting.

Then, in February, she celebrated her first birthday with a delicious blueberry cake with lemon curd filling made by her mommy.

Yup, she keeps growing and growing,

 and trying new hairdos,

 and loves to read

and climb on things.

Walking is the newest trick she's learning.  Hopefully, it won't take me as long to update this again, and they won't be so long.
